It’s kind of funny, but not everyone knows right away that they may be pregnant. Some women can go for months and just think that they are getting fatter. But there are early pregnancy signs that you should watch for that will help you find out. One of the most talked about will be the morning sickness that you may experience.
Some women are lucky enough to actually only be nauseated and not throw up. You are indeed lucky, because morning sickness isn’t fun at all. Missing that period may not be a definite sign, but one that you should watch for. While you will experience some upper back pain when you’re pregnant too. That’s going to continue to get worse too.
Gaining weight will happen when you’re pregnant, and you should gain some. Though many doctors will watch just how much you place on your body. When you start to grow out of your pants, just buy a belly belt. It’s something that will give you some extra time in those pants before you have to buy maternity ones.
Fatigue and tiredness are a way of life when you’re pregnant. It may start out with just little spells of seeming more tired than normal. But soon enough you may need to add an afternoon nap into your daily schedule.
Tenderness can be experienced in the breasts. This can be caused because you will be producing milk. Barely touching your breast you may experience pain, however again keep in mind that you are okay.
Food cravings, it’s a part of being pregnant. While you may not experience the craving for pickles or anything really weird, you most likely will crave a few things during that time. For me it was a lot of milk, I swear I must have drank a gallon in a day and a half for the last three or four months of being pregnant.
Of course you will also notice that you may have more headaches, and even heartburn. All you have to do is make sure that you are taking care of yourself and the baby. Keep those appointments with the doctor and take your vitamins like you’re supposed too.

Are you hosting a baby shower party for a friend or family member. Baby showers have significantly changed over the last 5 years and have gradually become more and more elaborate and well planned.
When hosting a Baby showers for the expectant mother it gives them a sense of security and warmth in the fact that their friends are coming together to support her by giving moral and financial support in a very emotional time. In today’s society, it really isn’t strange to find family members, groups of friends or even your church friends and pretty much anyone except the expecting mother helping to arrange the baby shower.
Who To Invite To The Baby Shower Who does one invite? Traditionally, the guest list would only include those closest and dearest to the mother-to-be. It doesn’t really matter if the mother-to-be gets a first glimpse at the invitation list as this may help you to get suggestions on who should be invited. However, if you are planning a surprise baby shower, you will have to do some research usually ask the expectant mums parents or very close friends on who should be attending instead of allowing expectant mother to see the invitation list.
If this is the second child not the firstborn, you may decide to keep the amount of guests down to the closest and dearest to the expectant mother. In saying this ,hosting a baby shower for the First Born tend to generate a bigger guest list as this is, a special occasion being the mother’s first birth.
What you need to remember about the baby shower is that the goal is intimacy. So when planning the baby shower try to include those that are close friends and family.
There are many informal ways that you can choose to invite your guests such as email, phone and other ways. But of course the more traditional way is to send out invitations or letters to the guests that will be attending. This also has the affect of making the baby much more formal event and in many countries is the only acceptable way to invite the guests.
What About the Guys At The Baby Shower The nature of the party is probably going to tend towards the feminine side; if the organizers of the party have a provision for this, then inviting men would be fine. It also depends on the men, since the party may dwell on topics such as pregnancy, children, and other motherly topics, they might not be that excited to join. All in all, it depends on the preference of the organizers.
Choosing The Baby Shower Venue Many baby shower parties are hosted in such places as formal halls, restaurants and even your own backyard. If the truth be told you can actually host a baby shower party anywhere you choose as long as the expectant mother is comfortable and there are amenities for your guests to use. Be warned however that you really need to arrange the location weeks before the shower is scheduled to start to ensure that you will not have crowds using the the same venue which could possible spoil the day for all attending.
When to Throw a Baby Shower Usually this is one or two months before her due. The baby shower is the perfect time to get your friend baby needs and stuff she may not have had time to purchase yet. It has to be well-timed though – not too close to the due date, and not to far as to whittle down the excitement.
Baby showers are a pleasant surprise to expecting mothers. It takes a lot of the stress of expecting a child off of their minds and provides a means for friends to show support and concern (and of course, baby gifts) to expecting friends.
A well organized baby shower will be remembered appreciated forever by mothers long after they have delivered their children. Having a plan and being prepared will reduce the amount of complications and distractions so that you can thoroughly enjoy the baby shower party.

Top Pregnancy Diets. Proper eating during pregnancy is critical. But what if you also concerned about weight gain? Although you should never try to lose weight during pregnancy, there are diets that are available during pregnancy that can cover your diet needs as well as account for your health and nutritional needs.
What top pregnancy diets must cover. Before we start looking at specific diets, lets briefly cover what needs to be part of your diet. You will need to have a diet that contains plenty of dairy, fruits, vegetables, proteins, and grains. You also need to make sure you get the proper vitamins such as folic acid, iron, vitamin C, and vitamin B12. You should avoid too much fat, sugar, and seafood that is susceptible to mercury. Stay away from alcohol and sugar substitutes. These are basic nutritional needs that a pregnant woman needs every day. Calcium is important, but you can fulfil your requirements with low fat milk.
Top Pregnancy Diets Should pregnant women choose popular diets? Doctors do not recommend going on a diet during pregnancy, therefore many popular diets should be avoided. Since the first thing we did was tell you to ensure you hit all your food groups, the last thing we would tell you is to remove them from your diet. The Atkins diet restricts the intake of certain food groups to induce weight loss. These are definitely two no-nos.
The pregnancy diet is obviously not for men. (Although in this day and age that may possibly change sometime)… Who knows what the men in their white coats are up to ?? You can execute the South Beach Diet while pregnant, with a caveat. This diet is based on getting rid of bad carbohydrates and replacing them with helpful carbs. Since part one is about temporarily getting rid of all carbs, you should skip this segment and go straight to phase two. And for the reason that phase three is about maintaining weight, the diet is a winner all around.
The Zone Diet, with its 40% carbs, 30% fat, and 30% protein would fall inside the guidelines of an acceptable pregnancy diet, with proper modifications to ensure that all the nutritional guidelines are fulfilled.
Top Pregnancy Diets for Vegetarians. Vegetarian diets will fulfil your pregnancy needs. If you enjoy tofu or soy milk, it can be substituted for milk. Make sure your soy milk is fortified with calcium. For breakfast, a traditional breakfast of cereal, toast, and wheat bread (two slices) will take care of mother and baby. You should also include a small serving of fruit and a glass of fruit juice. Lunch should include either a tofu sandwich or a healthy salad with plenty of greens. Also include some fruit. Dinner should also include whole grains and tofu. You should also include beans, legumes, and nuts. Do not neglect snacking at least twice a day. Snacks should include legumes, nuts, or seeds.
Dieting during pregnancy must take a backseat to the needs of you and your baby. But if you follow the guidelines, you can ensure that you can slip back into your pre-pregnancy clothes while your little one is still cooing from his bassinet by following the outlined top pregnancy diets available to you.

The Wonders Of A Waterbirth

The water is taking my weight and I’m clinging to the hand rails. My husband damping my forehead with ice cold cloths all the time to keep me from fainting.
Initially the pain eases off from the weightlessness and I feel like I’m in a spa except for the contractions and pain!
I’m a water person, I love everything about water and the thought of giving birth in water was a natural advancement from that. No need for drugs, the water is the only form of pain relief I need.
The water enables you to move and get into positions that you couldn’t otherwise. You are floating so can turn with comfort. You use less energy too as everything seems to be floating, you feel like you’re on drugs but you’re not! And for the baby too it is much better as you are relaxed so the baby has an bettertransition out.
Having spent 9 months inside you we should make the baby’s first seconds nicer. The water eases him into the world. No cold, no bright lights.
Then the baby swims up to the surface and will lie on his mums chest, his head outside of the water for the first time. It is there where the baby takes his first breath.
Make sure the room is warmed, the lights are low and there is a relaxing ambience with soft music, candles and aromatherapy. A calm as possible start to life in this noisy and bright world gives the baby less distress.
The whole experience is not only advantageous for your baby but for you too. Once your baby is born, you can relax in the pool for a while whilst clutching your baby to your chest. In my case my daughter actually started to look for my breast and latched on!
Research shows that babies who are born in the water are calmer and sleep better than babies not born in water. And that will of course also create happier parents!

Occasionally you hear somebody recite a story of how easy their childbirth was and how they really enjoyed it. I never thought those stories were true until I myself experienced it. There was one reason that I could do that and that was because of The Pink Kit.
The Pink Kit – what is it? It’s a multi media source of critical information for those wanting a natural childbirth. It contains superb information and techniques that you’ll not find anywhere else. Things that work.
The Pink Kit comprises a Book, DVD and CD’s. It is the finest resource you will find anywhere for natural childbirth.
The Pink Kit is so good that everybody should have it. If more women used it there would be far fewer Cesarean Sections in the world. The Pink Kit is now being recommended by more and more midwives. Natures way of birthing is back in fashion.
Knowing what happens to the bony structure, the soft tissues and the muscles in your pelvis will help you in labor. The Pink Kit shows you all this and even shows you how to ‘map’ your pelvis in order to help your baby’s exit.
The shape of your pelvis will have a deciding factor on your birth. The Pink Kit shows you a technique to work out what shapes yours is (they’re not all the same!). It then goes on to tell you which positions and type of birth is best for your shape. Simple.
The kit also teaches you how to control pain, breathe properly and adjust your position. It even teaches you how to massage the perineum so that you dont tear.
The Pink Kit is also for the partner. There are exercises that both use and will help during birth. My husband felt very sure going into the birth because of the kit.
With this knowledge he played a huge part in the birth of both of our daughters. He was able to guide and instruct me which I found so supportive.
Because of The Pink Kit I got to know my body intimately and during labor was able to respond to it. I had a waterbirth and adjusted my positions when required, to help my baby out.
To make sure that you are prepared as much as you can for the natural childbirth of your baby you need to eat healthy, be fit and well rested. But for the ultimate preparation for natural childbirth you read, watch and listen to The Pink Kit.
Facts About A Conception Calculator

You will be able to find out the most fertile days of menstrual cycle through a conception calculator. In this calendar all you need to do is enter the due date of your child and the day your last menstrual cycle started. The ovulation dates and the best times for conception can be calculated using a conception calculator. Generally, most women have a 28 day menstrual cycle. In other words, the time period between starting days two menstrual cycles is about 28 days. For instance, if a women has a 28 day cycle, then if her cycle began on 16 April, then the next cycle can be safely expected to start on the 14th of May.
On the other hand, every human being is different and lots of women dont have a regular 28 day cycle. This makes it difficult for them to calculate the length of their cycles and their conception dates. However, a conception calculator makes this problem easy. It will help you in understanding your body rhythms and help you to plan a child with ease.
A woman usually ovulates around the 14th day of her 28 day cycle. She can usually conceive on that date, or a few days before or after. This time frame is usually open for around five days. Since cycles can be irregular, a conception calculator is needed. They also have features that will allow you to figure out when your baby was conceived. Sometimes we aren’t sure because all pregnancies are not planned, so it just helps to know.
If you are facing some kind of paternity issue or have an issue about the father of your child, then conception calculator is quite useful. People facing a complication, rebound relationship or even a break up can find out about their conception date since sometimes mix ups happen. All you need to do is enter the due date of your child and conception calculator will help you to understand your ovulation date, your last menstrual period date and even the dates where conception may have occurred. If you want your child to be born on a particular day, that can also be planned with a conception calculator. A conception calculator is generally very accurate if the correct dates have been entered. It can not only help you plan your child but also come to your rescue in case of some paternity issue or even for merely satisfying your curiosity.
Breastfeeding Your Baby – 6 Reason Why You Should
May 24, 2009 by Mack Goodman
One of the first choices a new mother has to make is to either breastfeed your new baby or not. This is a major choice as breastfeeding is a way to ensure a healthy start of life for your newborn. As you know, there are many factors that may go into breastfeeding. The following are just six reasons why you should consider breastfeeding. I am sure there are many others, but these are some of the most important ones.
1. God’s Designed Food
Breastmilk provides babies with the the most perfect nutrition. The unique combination of carbohydrates, antibodies, proteins, as well as the minerals and fats, will provide your baby the very things they need to grow strong during these first months of their life.
Infant formula can never duplicate the perfect combination in breast milk. Many of the antibodies that are passed through to your baby through breast milk are very specialized to your genetic background and environment. Of course , babies are able to digest breast milk much easier than infant formulas, no matter what all the big formula companies say. Many times infant formula is based on Cow’s milk and this can irritate a newborn’s intestinal tract.
2. Disease Protection
Breast milk will provide your newborn with immunities that he or she can’t get elsewhere. Many infant and childhood illnesses are reduced or eliminated through the immunities from breast milk. Some of the common ones are diabetes, allergies, asthma, Crohn’s disease and even sudden infant death syndrome.
3. Bonds Mom and Baby
Breastfeeding causes a close bond to form between mom and baby. This is more than just the time spent close together, this is actally a horomonal change in mom while she is nursing. A horomone called ‘prolactin’ is released as a mother breast feeds and this has been known to cause a relaxing effect on the mom. This whole experience is what develops this bond between the baby and mom that lasts a lifetime.
4. Helps the New Mother get Her Body Back
When a new mom decides to breast feed, her body will go into milk production mode. It requires a lot of calories to make breast milk, some say up to 500 calories a day. This help the mom lose some of the weight she gained during pregnancy. Breastfeeding also causes the body to produce a different hormone that actually “shrinks” the uterus back to it’s normal position a size.
5. Reduce Baby Costs – Save Money!
Breast milk is free. Infant formula is expensive! You can use all the money you save on the new baby. You can save so much money just by buying a breast pump and storing your extra milk to use when you can’t breast feed directly. Be sure to buy a good Breast Pump. You can find them at great prices on the internet.
6. Breast Feeding is Highly Recommended
Many organizations strongly encourage and promote breast feeding as the ‘gold standard’ for a healthy baby. Some of the big named organizations are the American Academy of Pediatrics, the World Health Organization, UNICEF and the American Dietetic Association.
Remember, breastfeeding doesn’t have to mean only the mom holding the baby to her breast. There are many times that it won’t be possible. That is where a good quality breastpump comes in. Many of the benefits of breastfeeding are included when you feed your baby breast milk that was expressed from the mother with a breastpump.
