I haven’t had a period for almost two months now. So last week i took two pregnancy tests. One came up negative, but the other one showed a positive result, but was invalid because the line in the second window (that shows up to show that the test worked) never showed up. There is a good possibility im pregnant, but I’m not sure and honestly don’t want to believe I am. How long should it take for a home pregnancy test to say positive?

It should show up as positive around the same time as you would expect your period to come. So it should show up by now. Go buy another test and take it (or two, just in case). They’re most effective in the morning, and make sure you follow the directions exactly. If you still aren’t sure, go to your Dr. and have a blood test done. But if you get a positive result with a pee test, they’re really accurate and you can believe it.
If you have not had your period for 2 months then you should get a very clear positive result, go to your doctors and have a blood test done
I will definitely call your doctor if you have not had a period in almost 2 weeks. I might even get one more home test and see what it says. My tests showed up positive with my 1st and 3rd pregnancy about 10 days after I ovulated. With my 2nd pregnancy my first test was negative and that was the only pregnancy that I had a gut feeling I was pregnant. I did not get a positive with that pregnancy until about 15 days after I ovulated. Good luck and I hope it turns out the way you want it.
really it depends on how much of the pregnancy hormone you have in your body at the time you take the test…some have high levels of it and some don’t, and that might mean a pregnany test wouldn’t detect it….you need to set up an app. with an ob/gyn and have them look you over to see if you’re pregnant or stress or any other symptoms have just caused you to miss your period…
